Which areas do you cover?

Our home area is the Highlands and Islands, and Moray. That takes in:

  • Inverness and Nairn
  • Moray, with Elgin and Forres
  • Ross-shire and the Black Isle
  • Badenoch and Strathspey, and Lochaber
  • Skye and Lochalsh
  • Caithness and Sutherland
  • Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles

We help businesses across Scotland and the rest of the UK too, by phone and online. A lot of our lenders let you sign online, so distance is no problem.

£25,000 or less, for a sole trader or partnershipThe law has extra rules here, and you sign face to face at our office in Inverness. We choose to do this only in IV postcodes. That is our own business decision.

What can a Highland business finance?

A Highland business can finance most equipment it uses to earn money. We arrange business finance in the Highlands and Moray for trades like these:

Trades and builders
Vans, tools, diggers and other plant.
Farms and estates
Tractors, trailers and farm machines.
Haulage and transport
Lorries, trailers, coaches and taxis.
Hotels, pubs and restaurants
Kitchen and catering equipment.
Engineering and green energy
Workshop machines and renewable energy equipment.

How much, and how fast? Limited companies can borrow from £15,000. Sole traders and partnerships usually need over £25,000. We set no top limit of our own. Lenders set different limits. Our team gets back to you within a day.

Already own your equipment? You can raise cash from it with asset refinance. Need money for something else? Ask us about a business loan.

What should I bring to your office?

Bring these documents, so we can send your case to the lenders it suits best. They help us give you true figures. ID and proof of address also stop fraud. Tick them off as you go.

  • 3 months of business bank statements, every page.
  • Your latest year-end accounts.
  • The first time we work with you, ID and proof of address. We need it for at least 2 directors, if you have more.
  • The same for anyone who owns over 15% of the shares.
  • Sole traders: your own ID and proof of address.

Who have we helped near Inverness?

We helped a Highland based engineering business buy a new van on hire purchase. With hire purchase, you pay each month and own the van at the end.

The owner first looked online, but the prices seemed too good to be true. So he came into our Inverness office on his way home.

He wanted a new Maxus van, to own at the end, without a big deposit. We found hire purchase with a VAT-only deposit, over 60 months. That matches the van's five-year warranty. We also offered to put off the VAT for up to 3 months.

Can we work together?

Yes, our team would like to work with you. We work with local accountants, solicitors, dealers and brokers. We send work both ways.

Alana Mackenzie, our Business Development Director, looks after our partners. You will often meet her at local business events.

  • Accountants, solicitors and advisers. Local accountants already send clients to us. There is no fee up front. We are paid only when the finance goes ahead.
  • Dealers and suppliers. Alana can show your team how we work. Then we can see if we can help each other.
  • Other brokers and bank staff. You keep your own work. Your client can use our asset finance lenders. And we send work back.
Paying for introductionsIf you send us work often, we can agree a fee in writing, both ways. Your client is always told in full.
